Innovative cloud accounting company FreeAgent has become the latest business partner of the Freelancer and Contractor Services Association (FCSA), the UK’s leading trade association for professional employment services working to support the flexible workforce.

FreeAgent, who provide a multi-award winning cloud accounting system specifically designed for freelancers, contractors and their accountants, has agreed the partnership as part of its continuing drive to help contractors manage their tax and compliance responsibilities, and stay on top of their business finances.

FreeAgent is designed to help micro-businesses and contractors easily manage their financial admin, get a clearer picture of their overall position and work more effectively with their accountants. Hosted in the ‘cloud’, the pioneering software is accessible around the clock from any internet connection, which makes it an ideal solution for UK freelancers, contractors and the accountants who work with them.

Commenting on the new partnership, Kevin McCallum, FreeAgent’s Business Development Director said: “We are delighted to be teaming up with FCSA as an official business partner.  FreeAgent is specifically designed to meet the needs of the micro-business, freelancer and contractor market – and accountants who specialise with these types of businesses – and FCSA clearly recognises our expertise in this area.

“FCSA is an important organisation that provides incredibly valuable support for professional employment services in the UK, so it’s great that they see the benefits FreeAgent can bring to their members and the workers they support.

“Julia and her team at FCSA are committed to shining a light on the needs of the UK’s flexible workforce and we fully intend to take an active role in supporting their ongoing work.”

FCSA, which represents professional employment services such as umbrella employers and accountancy service providers, was set up in 2008 to set the benchmark for those working in the industry. It works tirelessly to protect contractors and freelancers and drive up standards in a historically unregulated industry.

Julia Kermode, chief executive of the FCSA added: “We are pleased to welcome FreeAgent on board as a partner and one that clearly understands the freelance and contractor community.  FreeAgent is a company which is rooted in helping freelancers and contractors to manage their accounts, and by working with them our members and the freelancers they work with can be assured of a first class accounting solution and service tailored specifically to help them.”
